John H. Hammergren
is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of McKesson
Corporation, which marks its 175th anniversary in 2008.
Under Hammergren's leadership, McKesson
has emerged as the leading provider of supply, information
and care management solutions designed to reduce the cost
and improve the quality of health care. During his tenure,
the company has more than doubled its revenues, enjoyed
industry-leading performance and advanced to number 18 on
the Fortune 500.
Hammergren is a member of the Hewlett
Packard board of directors. In addition, he serves on the
executive board of Verispan, a health care information company
and McKesson joint venture. He is also a director of Nadro,
S.A. de C.V., a leading pharmaceutical distributor in Mexico.
Prior to joining McKesson, Hammergren
led the Medical-Surgical division of Kendall health care
Products Company, and held a series of general management
positions at Baxter health care Corporation/American Hospital
Supply Corporation and Fujisawa health care between 1981
and 1991.
Hammergren earned his bachelor's in Business
Administration from the University of Minnesota, and his
master's from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
